I have noticed that a group of say one or two dozen ants, when they get stranded
on a sugary plate-island in a water-filled sink, will cluster together in
a clump, their little black heads all pointing inwards. They just sit
there, and I have to bump them pretty hard to get them moving. It's as if
they're trying to create a neural critical mass.... or something...?
