Re: How is soap different from detergent?

Hi Jes -

Soap contains detergent as one of the key ingredients for clearning dirt
out of things. In general dyes and perfumes and other substances are added
to make it more usable by people. For a specific definition of the words,
you can use the free online dictionary at http://www.merriamwebster.com/

Enter the word on their search form to pull up a full definition.

You can learn more about soap and detergents with a search of our archives at
http://madsci.org/MS_search/html for soap clean dirt

Sincerely,

	Lynn Bry, Moderator MadSci Network
