The BMW Group Design Boss (Chris Bangle) would like to use the number in a
presentation. It would be interesting to know how much kmē of our planet are
actually covered by asphalt (parking lots, streets, etc.) Thx !

Re: How much asphalt concrete in total covers the earth?

Hi Harald -

Your question can be answered by searching one of the free
search engines on the WWW. We recommend the following sites:

Google: http://www.google.com/
Yahooligans (Webguide for Kids): http://www.yahooligans.com/
Wikipedia (Free encyclopedia): http://en.wikipedia.org/

Try a search on Google for

how many square miles of asphalt cover the earth

Some websites give calculations for the US and other industrialized
nations. You might be able to approximate for that covering the earth. Hope
this helps..
