I have a school project to do and I cant find any information at all. I found out how to make a windsock but cant find any information on the backgound of wind socks, can you help? My library in town doesnt even have any information on this either. Thank you.

Re: Who invented the 'windsock'? Hi Christopher - A search on Google (www.google.com) for who invented windsock locates sites discussing their use centuries ago by the Japanese (it may difficult to identify a specific "inventor" of them). You can also try the US Patent/trademark database at http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html to locate people who have submitted patents for windsocks or windsock-like devices. Search their database for windsock to locate patents involving windsocks. Select the option to search "from 1790 to present day" which will locate some additional patents from the 1940s regarding use of windsocks at airports. Hope this helps..
