SUPPOSING (!) astronauts could journey to an extrasolar terrestrial planet
which had a biosphere that had evolved from scratch, totally separate from
that of Earth. What is the likelihood that organic (plant/animal/whatever)
matter would be compatable with human biochemistry? Could we eat alien
food? Could we be infected by alien microbes? Could we mate with aliens
and produce hybrid species?
