I was just wondering if the Spartan "survival of the fittest" program they practiced would have left any measurable genetic change in modern greeks living in what was then Sparta. This is given that they started having kids at about 16 and the civilization lasted about 600 yrs (so about 30-40 generations), if nothing else the practice of leaving infants out wouldve culled those with weak respiratory probs, would it not?
