Please help settle a disagreement between my sister - in law and Myself. Will an the temperature of an object that is engulfed in a block of ice always remain at the freezing point (32 degrees)? Will the temperature within that block of ice vary depending wether it the ice is stored in a freezer in a tropical location Vs. an artic location? I had heard that during a cold spell, orange farmers in Florida flooded their fields so as to keep the oranges engulfed in ice; or at 32 degrees, so that they would not spoil. Does this mean that the temperatue within ice neever varies??
