The earliest reports of crop circles were in the 1950's in England. Carl
Sagan's book The Demon Haunted World does a very good job of discussing crop
circles and concludes that it must be all crop circles are hoaxes.

Otherwise, there really isn't any reason to study crop circles. I am impressed
with human ingenuity and artful expression, but I do not believe in alien
visitors. Since recent long timers in the crop circle hoax business have
revealed themselves the occurences of crop circles has mitigated. It seems to
many people, the proponents of crop circle formation study are simply shysters
with their hands out to the gullible, uninformed public.

Sincerely,

Tom "Circle to the Left" Cull
