Am seeking info on the origin and early history of PCBs
(polychlorinated biphenyls)...Who discovered the compound,
where, and when?

Have searched many engines, asked in several on-line forums and
and checked Rachel's to no avail...It seems to have been an
outgrowth of research into benzene (?) in the late 1880's...
but I am seeking more sepcific info..Any leads are greatly appreciated.
As a follow up, I am seeking archival materials and
journal/industry materials (photos/film/audio, etc.)
relating the early history and use of PCBs (when it was considered a wonder
substance, and being touted for industrial use.)

Thanks in advance!
