What is the 'Convoy Phenomenon'?
In the context of massively parallel computing I came across the term
"Convoy Phenomenon". From the context it appears that this has some-
thing to do with a network being jammed with too many messages or
with messages sent in an uncoordinated way, but what exactly is meant
by "convoy" here?
