Well, as far as I know, it's not a widely used term. So here goes with what my colleagues and I think.
I would imagine that it is this.
The packets are the trucks, and the line is the road.
If packets are not being processed fast enough, then there will be bunching.
If you are in a ring network, then the packets would be let out in a bunch and would appear to all end up buching together and moving round the ring together in a convoy.
This is the best I can do.
