How could the first organisms reproduce? I understand that the evolutionary
process relies on the transferring of genetic material from parent to offspring.
I accept the theory of evolution as the most plausible explanation for the
origin of life on earth and human life, but one point I don't understand:

How could the first organisms have "evolved" the ability to reproduce (even a
basic common procedure such as binary fission is fairly complicated, isn't it)?
