what happens if you put an object halfway past the event horizon of 
a... black hole? i.e. supposing you could keep from being pulled into 
the black hole and keep the object halfway past the event horizon, 
what would happen if an object of greater gravitational force were to 
pull on the upper part of the arm in question?
