 Let's start off with what is a black hole. It is made up of the remnants of a dead star, which has collapsed due to gravitational forces. The star's entire mass has become an object of infinite density at a point called the singularity. At the singularity, gravity is infinite, making the concepts of space and time meaningless around it. From the singularity out to the event horizon, the point where the escape velocity from the black hole is equal to the speed of light, if anything happens we will never know about it. Why? Because any information about what had happened would have to move faster than the speed of light to get out, which is a no-no.

 If your object was placed half way past the horizon event inside the black hole, it is inside, will always be inside and is completely governed by the gravity of the singularity. If your object was placed outside the black hole, it is still governed by all of the laws of physics that describe the rest of the Universe. If an object of greater mass is at an equal distance from the object as the black hole, the object will accelerate towards the source of greater gravitational force. Remember though, the two gravitational sources will also act on each other, accelerate towards each other, and your object is sitting right between them.
