I am doing a Science Project where I plan to isolate the fluids from
common fungi in the Alaskan woodlands. I then plan to test these
substances on a stock culture of bacteria (probably a docile strain of
E. Coli) by soaking filter paper circles in my test substances and
then placing them on the agar in hope of seeing the "halo effect". It
is my hope to establish the presence of antibiotics in these fungi
that can be isolated (and possibly researched). I need to find known
information, while I have found some books, most of them are written
well above or below my comprehension. What do you think of my project
and do you have any web sites or book titles I might investigate
