The force of gravity is pressing down on a gyroscope that's on a
support. And that is oriented practically horizontally so that
gravity causes it to precess. If the support were on a spring
scale to measure its weight wouldn't it measure a lower weight
when the gyroscope is precessing since some of the force of
gravity is used in producing the precession?
