Possibly the above and related topic have been already taken up many times on here...but please help me to understand better... I would like to know if it is possible for people with scientific background to really believe in what is taught in the Bible. Does one take the Bible as it is, or make different interpretations of what is said in the Bible to fit what is known in the scientific findings? To take one example, considering what we know of the theory of evolution, biology, etc., what kind of arguments are made on the story of Adam & Eve? (i.e. were they the first human beings on earth? can they have really lived 800 years?) Were Adam & Eve the first apes? Or first couple that evolved into what we consider human beings? Were they in actuality not in human forms, and were they dinosaurs or turtles if they lived for 800 years? Was the environmental and atmospheric quality different at that time to permit beings to live for almost a millenium? I apologize if these are such elementary questions... Thank you in advance for your help!
