Depends what you mean by "wild cows." As commonly understood by the 
layperson, the answer is yes, at least up til recently. Take a look at this 
website:      http://www.ugwa.org/grazing.htm     (bottom of page)
which describes an attempt by the National Forest Service and the State of 
New Mexico in June 1998 to "clean up" a group of "feral cattle".  Feral 
animals are domesticated species that have gone wild, reproducing and 
living in the wild state without any support by man.

So I'd say you won the bet. Congratulations!
