Subject: show that a power line hangs in a hyperbolic curve

can it be shown that a power line hangs in a hyperbolic curve by summing 
the forces on the line at a point by starting with the tension of the 
power line in each direction and the force mg.  In doing so do you have to 
make the assumption that the angle the tension makes to the horizontal 
direction is small?
