The pain you describing is probably neuronal in origin with cause related 
to the spinal cord.
I don't want to make you anxious.  Better check with ur family docter telling 
him an elaborate history.  If nothing serious comes out of that checkup, I will 
suggest changing the way you use a headpillow or changing the way you sit in 
your office, or checking whether your spect number increased or not if 
applicable--as increased number causes neck strain.These kind of small changes 
can make a large difference .Use a painkiller only in exceptional cases.
