If the Lungs were shut down or removed competely, how much oxygen would
the blood stream need to carry in order to sustain life? I tried looking
for information on heart and lung bypasses and found nothing. Also, do
red blood cells absorb O2 simply by aeration, or do they need additional
help? Is it possible to remove your lungs and directley aerate the
bloodstream by mechanical methods? (h202, compressed O2 or LOX?)This could
have some advantages for diving.
