I am researching for information that may help me to explain the effects on the heart rate of daphnia due to the following substances: caffeine, vitamin C and vitamin B(thiamin?). I was hoping you may help as i have searched hours in libraries and on the net! In brief.. i know that when coffee is drunk it acts as a vasoconstrictor thereby temporarily increasing human heart rate...is this true for daphnia ( could u please help to explain why ?) Finally why do vitamins affect heart rate + why would they have a different affect on h.rate when used in conjunction with the coffee solution. Thank you for your time :) ^_^
