If I were to take a sample from a freshwater source affected by acid rain, would the acid in that rain influence the growth rate/pattern of bacteria that grew from the sample?

Seeing as there are many types of bacteria that live in freshwater, can you tell me what most well-known and/or abundant type of bacteria are good to discuss.
