Sorry I don't have access to the NSF or AWWA standards manuals; that would have been the definitive source for your question. However, I did find a plumbing material resistance chart at http://www.plumbingsupply.co m/chemicals.html Hypalon should work fine with hypochlorite solutions, but it's iffy with straight chlorine. chris elhardt Bob Peeples adds: The specification referring to "clorine solutions" is probably referring to the hypochlorite (bleach) solutions used most often to introduce chlorine into water. "Straight chlorine" (chlorine gas) is dangerous and costly to manage properly. Only very large scale operations use chlorine gas. Most likely, the intent of the specification was to use teflon where hypochlorite solutions are contacted. This is probably not the answer that you were hoping for, and hypalon may have a reasonably long life expectancy, but that doesn't sound like what the specification calls for. Bob Peeples, PE
