I recall proposals (maybe in sci fi stories) to shoot nuclear waste into
the sun. It seems to me this would take tremendous energy to counter
Earth's orbital motion. Also, I wondered if it would be possible to get
very close-up information by sending a spacecraft on a suicide mission.
