As far as I know of and have heard, no object has ever been sent into the 
Sun. Yes, there were the talks of sending nuclear waste and other such 
items into our star, but you are correct in your observation as far as the 
energy amount required to do so. However...there are man-made satellites 
orbiting the Sun. I leave it as a challenge to you to find information
about them on the Internet..
