This is what I got from the Human Anatomy and Physiology laboratory manual
(5th ed) by Elaine Marieb. The bulbourethral glands produce a thick, clear,
alkaline mucus that drains into the membranous urethra to wash rediual urine
out of the urethra. The sperm and fluid from the seminal vessicles,
composed of fructose and other nutrients for the sperm, enter the prostatic
urethra from the ejactulatory duct at about the same time. The prostate
gland, which surrounds the prostatic urethra, then releases a milky fluid,
which plays a role in activating the sperm, into the urethra. All of this
is then ejactulated out the body through the penile urethra by muscular
contractions of the ejactulatory duct.

Of course, all of this happens so fast that it seems like it all occurs at
the same time.
