Hello Erica,

I have your answers for you. my name is Chuck and I am a Student at SIU-E.
Well here you go.........................................................

Ok, agar is a subtance made from sea weed, and there are many types of
agar medium used for different bacteria. Erica, you are trying to find the
zit causing bug. This bug is called Propionbacterium acne, it is a small
gram positive bacilli. Commonly found on the skin. The bacteia gives off
propionic acid which causes zits. If you would need to get agar ask one of
your science teachers, they should have agar you need. Normal, regular
agar should do fine. If you would like go the American Society of
Microbiology web site (www.asm.com) you should be able to find for
information. By the way you have a sound idea for your experiment, and it
should work! Congrats, I wish you victory, and good science. If you have
any other questions please feel free to contact us.

GOOD LUCK,

CHUCK
