I am a High school chemistry teacher. A student presented me with a 
problom on this formula name. SnO2. Is this tin(iv) oxide or tin(II) 
peroxide. What is the rule or guide line for naming this compund. I looked 
in the CRC abd could not get a deffinative answer.
