I am looking for a book (preferably available in the UK) which
describes the equations associated with biological processes such as
gene regulation and protein production. I know there will be a lot of
differential equations, but I'm not scared.

I have spoekn to a biologist who recommended a book called:

Mathematical Biology - JD Murray

It's very good, but very complex and a good maths background is
needed.
