Chris, It would be helpful if you were some sort of recognizable disadvantaged minority. A sexually ambiguous, dwarf, American Indian could be dean within the first year. Your best bet would be an off shore medical school or U.S. graduate school. I am on the faculty of a teaching/training program and we have done very well with some off shore medical school graduates. A good graduate preformance in graduate school in a biochem/molecular biology program would also be very helpful. Competence in another language is aslo helpful. My undergraduate GPA was 2.3. After graduation, I was in the Navy for three years then went back to school as an undergraduate for a couple of years to take pre-med courses and then into graduate school in chemistry. All A's. From there I was able to get into medical school. That was 30 years ago, before affirmative action.
