I did an experiment testing whether baking soda was an ionic compound. (It
was.) I attatched a wire I believe to be copper to the two posts on a 9 volt
battery. I put the wires in the baking soda/water solute and it bubbled. When I
extracted the wires, I saw a green residue on the wire, attatched to the
positive post. What is that and why is it there?
