I'm trying to add a little more content to the glubber and glue putty lab.
Glubber, by my definition, is created by mixing white glue with a borax
solution. Glue putty is created using white glue and a powdered starch
solution. (Liquid starch doesn't work.)

What is the chemical reaction occuring to create these two compounds? I've
read a little about glue being an aliphatic polymer, vinyl and borax cross
linking, but I'd love to see it in an equation with a drawing so I can explain
the differences in elasticity to my students.

Thank You!!
Stacy
