I found a table that contains the optical confinement factors of quantum well laser diode corresponding to different active layer thicknesses. But that is perticularly for GaAs/Al(0.3)Ga(0.7)As structure. How can we calculate the confinement factor for the structure other than this. I want to know some mathematical relation between the optical confinement factor and the active layer thickness. That should also taking in to account the refractive indices of active layer and cladding layers.
Re: how can we calculate the optical confinement factor of a laser diode?
