Subject: how is the science i do in class related to veterinary medicine?

I'm im great need of help. I've spent hours researching and i can't find 
anything on my question. I need help because I have an assignment, and our 
teacher wants us to compare what we do in class to what other people in 
different fields of science do. I chose veterinary medicine, so if you could 
please help me a bit to understand what veterinarians do in terms of 
chemistry, biology or physics. Thank you!
