Hi,

My name is Michele Foley and I work for CHOW magazine based out of San
Francisco. I am currently working on a story regarding microwave use and was
hoping someone at your organization may be able to help me with this.

The question I am trying to answer is whether or not it is safe to put a teabag
in the microwave that has a staple in it. Will this cause sparks? Why or why
not? And does it make a difference if the staple is submerged in water?

My deadline for this piece is Thursday, August 17th so a prompt reply would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Best,

Michele
