MadSci Network: Medicine |
Hi Brittany. Wow! That's a tough question.
Many programs focus somewhat less during admission on the exact undergraduate program you have taken, as long as you meet the entrance requirements. In our own school, we have students with intensive science backgrounds and other with more liberal arts based experience and only minimal science background. Both seem to be equally effective - it's probably more about your development of learning skills.
Of course, the admissions process is different from school to school, so you might take a look at their exact rubric and see whether this decision you are making will have any specific impact. Also, keep in mind that the first year or two in medicine can be a bit of a culture shock with workload, so you might consider taking courses in undergrad that link best with the material to be covered.
