Dear Mad scientist,

A friend told me once that every 7th wave rolling ashore from sea or

ocean is a little bigger than the other 6 waves. I didn't believe it

then, but after a holiday in krete (greece) I started to have doubts,

and a litle while ago someone else told me the same story. My girl-

friend thinks i'm mad, so the following question should be right at

home at this site.

So the question is:

Is it true that every 7th wave rolling ashore from seas or oceans is

bigger that the other 6 waves? And if so, what is the explanation?

Hope to get an answer soon,

Greetings

Bas van Duijnhoven,

Rheden,

The Netherlands.
