I am an optometrist in clinical practice and every week I see patients with
adenoviral eye infections. I repeat the mantra that there is no cure for this
type of virus and I remind them it is like the common cold and must run its
course. Naturally, I provide palliative measure for their symptoms (some of
which are quite debilitating) but I don't really understand why that is all
there is to do at this point. Most viruses are relative wimps, so why can't we\
kill them off without damaging the host?
