Dear Justin. You have many nerves in your skin, and all of your skin nerves are connected to your spinal cord, and from there, messages go to your brain. When you fall down and get a cut in your skin, the nerves in your skin get damaged. Then, the damaged nerves send a message to your spinal cord, and then to your brain, and your brain then tells you "ouch!" and the location of the damage. This is why you feel pain when you fall down and get a cut or a scrape.
