I always wandered how a jet engine is started. I tried to look up in my encyclopedia for it, but I found only information about how a jet engine WORKS (I mean, I found that it compresses the air with a series of turbines, then the fuel is injected and ingnited), but not how the turbines start their rotation when the jet engine is "switched on". Is an electrical engine used? Or what else? Can you explain me it?
