Dear Student,

Your question is interesting but incomplete. How fast do you want to
travel? The AVERAGE distance from the earth to the moon is 240,000 miles.
 At 1000 Miles/hr, it would take approximately 240 hours. At 2000
miles/hr, it would take approx. 120 hrs., and so on. Keep in mind that the
distance varies. At times the moon is closer to the earth than 240,000
miles. That is what causes tides in the ocean and lakes (gravitational
attraction).

Just remember the basic equation: distance = speed X time, and
time = distance/speed.  Thus 240000/1000 = 240.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Don Berry, P.E.
