Subject: Can solar flares from the sun cause increased static electricty on earth.

I have noticed an increase of static electricity corrosponding with the 
largest solar flares in the last 11 years. During the week of 1-07-00 thru 
1-13-00 the static was so bad you could get shocked touching tap water out 
of the faucet. Touching any metal produced the same effect and was noticed 
by several different people in town. Of course we've had several large 
earthquakes in the area in the past, could be a prelude to something else.
