I was under the impression that typically pulses of infrared light are used
to pass information through fiber optic cables.  I was also under the
impression that infrared light is also known as heat radiation.  If that is
the case, is there any heat dissipation along the fiber optic cable? If
not, why not?  If the cable is not designed properly (i.e. diameter,
material, cladding, etc.), would there be dissipation of heat radiation
along the fiber optic cable?  Any additional information would be greatly
appreciated.  Thank you.
