We've been studying Michelson's determination of the speed of light using 
an octagonal prism on the top of Mt Wilson. While understanding the 
principle, we were wondering:
 >> How did Michelson measure precisely the distance travelled by the 
light?
 >> How did he line up his mirrors at 35km away?
