Message:
Exceeding the speed of sound in air results in the sonic boom.Since water
is approximately 800 times denser than air what would be the resulting
shock wave if say a meteor struck the surface of the ocean? It would
travel for some distance underwater at better than 4400 feet per second
right?Thanks for your reply.
