The atmospheric EMP destroys transistorized circuits, but not older vacum
tube systems. Would EMP encounterd outside the atmosphere work the same
way, or would it overload vacum tube systems as well? I'm writing a scifi
novel, and am having trouble with this particular physics question. (I'm an
anthropologist, someone who loves science but can't do math)

The question already answered on your site was similar, but not as specific as
mine and therefore did not
answer my question.
