I've noticed sometimes that when the batteries are a little low in a
remote control and it's been sitting for a while, the first time I try to
use it it fails to work. But I've discovered that if I hit it once or
twice against my palm, it starts to work normally. What is happening
here? Does it have something to do with the battery contacts?
