This is an interesting question. After some calculation it is found that the induced current is of reversed phase compared with the current in the coil, therefore the ring is attracted to the nearest end of the coil bar, and if its movement is not stopped, it will "shoot off" the coil bar.

The details of the calculation is shown in Fig.1 and Fig.2.

The direction of the force is shown in Fig.3. It should be noted the magnetic field generated by the current along the ring (I2) should not impose force on itself, therefore only magnetic field generated by the coil is drawn.
