We are debating whether it is wise to keep the door open to the basement in a
three level townhouse. It has forced warm air heat and an area open from main
floor to upstairs (atrium..no floor between levels). We wonder if the cold air
will fall down to the unheated basement thus saving the need to reheat it. We
are not sure about heat transfer at the doorway etc. Thank you!
